- your work is truly amazing. You shot my friend brynja jonbjarnar :) - I wanted to ask you if you don't mind, what camera are you using? & do you use alot of flash? would you say having a flash on your camera is a must? thanks! x
Brynja is wonderful! I was hoping she comes back to NYC again soon!
I mostly use a canon 7d paired with a 580ex and a 24-70L. I use flash frequently but rentals decided I would set it aside for a month unless comissioned to use it so I can focuse on some other things with my art.
Hey Everyone! I thought I’d write a quick note to update everyone on what’s been happening! Many of you probably noticed I slowed down on updating my tumblr.
I’ve been busy working. I had some recent work come out in Marie Claire Turkey, Lovecat, Vision and a few others. And you probably noticed that there were 50 pages I did for Smug spread across 2 editorials that just came out this week (hence all the recent updates). I am fortunate to say that I have many many more pages sent off and ready to come out in the coming months!
I have been picking up more commercial work lately and that is one of my focuses right now. For the longest time I was in a corner struggling to find work but that has been changing as I understand things more. I’ve also been doing a little celebrity work and am continuing a push to do more of that. And, of course, I’m looking to improve my art as a whole.
As many of you know, I love sharing my experiences with people through tumblr. I’m excited that I found myself in the middle of a huge epic shift in my work now that I have so much coming out and I will probably begin sharing that change and outlook on my work.
In other news - I am heading to Seattle for some work, then to visit my parents in Spokane. Afterwards I’ll fly fly directly to Los Angeles to do some more work and catch up with some friends out there before returning to NY in April. So expect to see more travel photos! ;)
I appreciate each of you for showing interest and support of my art. I appreciate all the reblogs and likes. And I love to see many people blogging my work they find on other sites (with credits of course! :D).
I also want to give a shout out to all the others who have helped: friends, family, the stylists, editors, models, the agents, hair and makeup people, the artists, my clients, my art buyers, prop stylists, professional bloggers, the people who keep sending supportive fan mail, other photographers, the people of NY… and you for taking the time to read this!
